CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands —Federal agents and police in the U.S. Virgin Islands have seized a haul of cocaine worth about $16 million at a house on St. Thomas.
A Tuesday statement from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says officers found 531 kilograms of cocaine, some marijuana and two pistols.
Authorities have not disclosed more details about the raid other than to say there were no arrests.
Over the last six weeks, federal agents in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico have seized more than 2,250 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of roughly $67 million.
The neighboring U.S. territories serve as a transit route for South American cocaine en route to the U.S.
