$8 Million RR Phantom Uses Over 260 lbs. of Gold!
An anonymous Middle Eastern businessman commissioned Swiss company Eurocash AG to create him a Rolls Royce Phantom that's not only extremely lavish, but also extremely safe. The company started by adding over 260 lbs. of 18k gold to the exterior and interior of the vehicle. Next, they added high quality ballistic armor to the sides, roof, and floor of the car, as well as bullet-proof glass in all the windows. This Phantom is rated to withstand up to 570 rounds from an AK 47, and can also safely absorb the shrapnel from two hand grenades. This kind of opulent security doesn't come cheap though. The customer shelled out $8.1 million for the car.
