Kendrick Lamar & Jadakiss On Jay-Z vs. Nas Battle

I'm sure all the heads out there still remember the Jay-Z/Nas beef that erupted in 2001 when Hov accused Nas of being a has-been on the track "Takeover" from The Blueprint. "Ni**a switch up your flow, your s*it is garbage/But you try and kick knowledge? (Get the f**k outta here)" and "Fell from top ten to not mentioned at all/To your bodyguard's Oochie Wally verse better than yours/Matter fact you had the worst flow in the whole fu**in' song..." Nas fired back on his song "Ether" from the Stillmatic LP. Nasty claims he got it locked down and throws several gay slurs at Jay: "When these streets keep calling, heard it when I was sleep/ That this Gay-Z and C**k-A-Fella Records wanted beef/ Then you got the nerve to say that you're better than Big/ D**k-suckin' lips, why don't you let the late great veteran live", "You a d**k-ridin' fag*ot, you love the attention/ Queens ni**as run you ni**as, ask Russell Simmons." Jadakiss and Kendrick Lamar recently discussed who won the battle, with each rapper taking a different side. "I didn't really like the 'Takeover' beat," admitted Jadakiss. "But the words—you know what the words are! It's like the Declaration of Independence on the battle tip. What he's saying is crazy. I like the laaaaayyyyymmmmme part. It was heavy, but Nas' 'Ether' sits on the mantle when it comes to battle songs." Kiss added that "Ether" gets an "A-Plus grade." Kendrick Lamar, however, says Jay-Z came out on top. "Truthfully, I felt like everybody wanted to go against Jay-Z because Nas was the underdog. But I was riding with Jay because he was saying more facts. 'Ether' was powerful, but I always thought Jay had the upper hand."
